Bontang FC

The Bontang Football Club is a football club from Bontang, Indonesia. Currently the club plays in the top league in the country, the Indonesian Premier League. Play their home games in the club from Mulawarman Stadium. The association describes itself as the most successful club from Kalimantan. After the semi-finals in 1994/95 was reached in 1999 /00 the final of the championship.

Club name

The club was founded on 18 June 1988 as Persatuan Sepakbola Pupuk Kaltim Galatama. After renaming in Pupuk Kaltim and Kalimantan Timur Pupuk Bontang the club was renamed in 2002 in Persatuan Sepakbola Bontang Kalimantan Timur Pupuk. On 12 June 2009 the name was changed in Bontang Football Club.
