Book of Taliesin
Llyfr Taliesin [ ɬivr tal'jesin ] ( "The Book of Taliesin " ) is the name of an incompletely preserved collection of poems in kymrischer language that is dated to the 14th century.
Content
After the Welsh scholars of Ifor Williams (1881-1965) should be twelve of the poems of Taliesin contained in the works, a historical poet of the 6th century. Eight of them are songs of praise to King Urien Rheged of a dirge for his son and three Owein Price poems to other princes in the 6th century. More poems the poet has also been associated, although they probably date from a later period. Williams' reference to Taliesin is therefore rather doubted in recent times.
The manuscript is now kept in the National Library of Wales ( Cymru Llyfrgell Genedlaethol [ ɬəvrgeɬ genedlaɪθol kəmrɪ ] ) in Aberystwyth.
Reception
