Borden Ranch AVA

Borden Ranch AVA ( recognized since 17 July 2006) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California. The area is located in the administrative regions Sacramento County and San Joaquin County. The vineyard is located in the eastern area of the parent Lodi AVA. Further east, the huge wine-growing region of the Sierra Foothills AVA joins. The vineyards of Borden Ranch located at an altitude of 22 m to 158 m above sea level. NN. In the north, the area is bordered by the Laguna Creek and on the south by the Dry Creek. Both rivers originate in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and in the direction of the San Joaquin Valley flow. The soil is alluvial with a high proportion of gravel and clay. Are grown mainly red wines from late-ripening varieties.
