Boreray (St. Kilda)

Boreray is a now uninhabited island of St. Kilda archipelago, some 83 km west of the island of Lewis and Harris. The National Trust for Scotland is the owner. Boreray is about 0.77 square kilometers, the highest point is 384 meters. The island is known as a nesting site of numerous, some rare species of seabirds.

The Boreray Sheep is a small breed of sheep. Head and legs are black or brown. The wool is white or light brown, single copies can also be darker. Male and female animals are horned. Horns of the blocks are bigger and wound helical. Since 1930, the year of the evacuation of the neighboring island of Hirta, the Boreray sheep are wild.
