Boris Herrmann

Boris Herrmann (born 28 May 1981) is a German yachtsman.

Sporting successes

In 2001, Herrmann reached the 11th place at the Mini - Transat in the series boat rating as the youngest participant and the only German. In 2006 he became vice - European champion and 2007 German champion in the 505 class. In spring 2008, Herrmann won with the Beluga Offshore Sailing Team at the Artemis Transat - the former OSTAR - the second place in the Class 40

2008/2009 won Herrmann and his co-skipper Felix Oehme with the Beluga Racer, the Portimão Global Ocean Race - a race in five stages around the world for boats of Class 40 ( 1st stage: Portimão, Portugal - Cape Town, South Africa; 2. stage: Cape Town - Wellington, New Zealand, Wellington stage 3 - Ilhabela, Brazil, Ilhabela stage 4 - Charleston, South Carolina and Charleston stage 5 back to Portimão ). For the first time after the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1989/1990 so has a German pro team on a German ship to win a stage and eventually even the overall victory in an international ocean race. As the first German participants he participated in the Barcelona World Race in part 2010/2011 and reached together with his teammate Ryan Breymaier 5th place.
