Borkower See

The Borkower lake is located south of the village Borkow about 10 kilometers southeast of Sternberg in the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern in the Sternberg Lake District. The lake belongs to the municipality Borkow. It is located in a natural landscape in the conservation area "Medium Mildenitztal ". The lake is up to 750 meters wide and 370 meters long and has a wedge shape with wide expiring northern part and the southern part of cusped. In the western part opens the Schlower stream that comes from the small injector lake west of the lake lying. The lake flowing through Mildenitz flows to the east into the lake to leave it again in the Northwest. The lake is severely overgrown and covered with algae. The former swimming area at Borkow is no longer available (as of 2008 ). The lake is up to the northern part completely wooded and mostly verschilft swampy and almost continuous. To the west along the Mildenitz the wetland pond fracture connects. Southwest of the lake reach the heights with the Kavelsberg 51 m above sea level. NHN.
