Born Free Foundation

The Born Free Foundation is a UK-based animal welfare organization, which advocates for wildlife and nature conservation. It has its origins in the founded together with her son of the actor couple Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers Zoo Check Campaign of 1984.

Target

The Born Free Foundation is committed to endangered species of wild animals in their natural habitat and in captivity. Foundation

In 1966, McKenna and Travers had worked together on the film Born Free. Campaigns

As an umbrella organization, the Born Free Foundation, multiple campaigns now controls in parallel. These are the Zoo Check Campaign, Campaign Elefriends, Wolf Campaign, Marine Campaign, Primate Campaign, Big Cat Campaign, and the Bear Campaign in detail.

Zoo Check Campaign

The Zoo Check Campaign ( German: Zooüberprüfungskampagne ) is central to the efforts of Born Free. The aim of the campaign is to stop suffering of trapped animals. This also circuses and zoos should be phased out.

Together with Endcap Born Free has developed the EU Zoo Inquiry ( EU Zoo Inquiry ) in 2011.
