NSG Borstenbachtal

The bristle Bach is a left tributary of the Weser in the north- east of the German Federal State of North Rhine -Westphalia.

Geography

The lake has a total length of 7.5 km. The catchment area extends over part of the northern Lipper highlands and parts of western Ravens Mulde. The water rises to the west of Vlotho am Bonneberg and flows into the Weser Rehme (Weser river kilometer 189). The river passes under the Federal Highway 2 at Highway km 298.969 and the federal highway 30 in BAB 130.530 km ( rkm 3.5 ).

Environment

The Borstenbachtal in Vlotho and Bad Oeynhausen between 3.6 and 7 km and covering an area of 19.2 hectares since 1998 under nature protection. The valley is pronounced as close to nature Sieksystem as is typical for the Ravens Berger country. In the box-shaped valley wet grassland areas are bounded by up to 8 m high slope levels. The valley is a structurally rich biotope complex of oak and beech woods, brook accompanying alder and ash forests, grasslands, multiform wet wasteland with Seggenrieder and reedbeds and natural flowing and standing waters. The river is largely meandering close to nature with a flat - and steep banks, gravel bars and riparian woodland. On a steep bank of the breeding place of a Eisvogelpärchens is detected. The fish ponds in the area are partially renatured natural. The area formally consists of two nature reserves ( bristle Bach and Borstenbachtal ) in the respective municipalities, but the area is the natural area a unit.
