The Bos, also called Bosbach, is a 5.8 km long, orographic left tributary of the Nahe in the northeastern Saarland.

Geography

The Bos originates at Zallenberg at an altitude of 490 m above sea level. NN. From here, the creek flows mainly to the east. Which belongs to Nohfelden village Bosen is thereby passed to the north, before after about 3.4 km of river stretch of the creek reaches the Bostalsee. Before that opens on the right side of the current flowing through Bosen Pärwiesbach. The mouth of the reservoir is about 300 meters south of the village also belong to Nohfelden Eckelshausen. The Dämelbach ends in the south in the reservoir and thus is a tributary of the Bos. The outflow of the reservoir is located southwest of Gonnesweiler. After only about 1 km further stretch of river the Bos opens at an altitude of 379 m above sea level. NN on the left side in the Nahe.

On its 5.8 km long river stretch the Bos overcomes a difference in altitude of 111 m, corresponding to an average bed slope of 19.1 ‰. They drained a 12.634 km ² large catchment area.
