Bosque Farms is a city in Valencia County in the U.S. state of New Mexico in the United States with 3931 inhabitants ( 2000).

Geography

The city is located about 10 km south of Albuquerque, east of the Historic Route 66 in the north of the county, slightly northwest of the geographic center of New Mexico and has a total area of 10.2 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census in 2000 lived in Bosque Farms 3,931 people in 1,422 households and 1,126 families. The population density was 385 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 82.68 % White, 0.61 % African American, 1.88 % Native American, 0.20 % Asian, and other groups.

Of the 1,422 households out of which 33.9 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 67.5 % were married couples living together, 8.0 % had a female householder with no husband, and 20.8% were non-families, 16.5 % of all households are made up and 6.1% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.76 and the average family size was 3.10 persons.

In relation to the entire town the population was spread out with 26.0 % under the age of 18, 6.2 % from 18 to 24, 25.4% between 25 and 44 years, 29.4 % between 45 and 64 years and 12.9% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 98.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.6 men statistically.

The median income for a household was $ 44,055, and the median income for a family was $ 49,688. Males have a median income of $ 40,963, women $ 25,726. The per capita income in Bosque Farms was $ 20,317. 4.8 % of families and 7.7 % of the population were below the poverty line.
