Valencia County, New Mexico
Valencia County is a county located in the state of New Mexico in the United States. The County has 76 569 inhabitants. The the county seat ( county seat ) is located in Los Lunas.
Geography
The County is located just north-west of the geographic center of New Mexico and has a total area of 2765 square kilometers, of which 2 square kilometers (0.05 percent) is water area. The county borders in New Mexico in a clockwise direction to the counties: Bernalillo County, Torrance County, Socorro County and Cibola County.

According to the census of 2000, there were 66 152 people in the county. There were 22,681 households, and 17,350 families. The population density was 24 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 66.51 % White, 1.27 % African American, 3.30 % Native American, 0.36 % Asian, 0.09 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 23.93 % from other races groups; 4.55% were descended from two or more races. 54.98 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 22,681 households out of which 39.60 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 57.20 % were married couples living together, 13.10% had a female householder with no husband. 23.50% were non-families. 18.80% of all households and 6.40% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.86 and the average family size was 3.25 persons.
Based on the county the population was spread out with 30.10 % under the age of 18, 8.40 % from 18 to 24, 29.60% from 25 to 44 years, 21.70% between 45 and 64 years and 10.20% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 100.70 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.10 males.
The median income for a household was $ 34,099, and the median income for a family was $ 37,157. Males have a median income of $ 30,339, women $ 23,132. The per capita income was $ 14,747. 16.80% of the population and 13.50 % of families are below the poverty line. 22.30 % of those under age 18 and 10.80% were 65 years or older.
