Boston City Hall

The Boston City Hall is the city hall of Boston, capital of Massachusetts. Designed by the architecture firm Kallmann McKinnell & Wood and Campbell, Aldrich & Nulty of Gerhard Kallmann and colleagues in the style of brutalism building was built in 1963-1968 and is located in the Government Center Boston. The design of the Boston City Hall and the surrounding Plaza have been received very controversial among the public and will be discussed up to the present. The reigning since 1993, Mayor Thomas Menino struck 2006, to demolish the town hall, the land to private investors to sell and elsewhere in South Boston to build a new one. Given the recession, these plans were abandoned in December 2008.
