The Silver Bluestem ( Bothriochloa saccharoides ) is a plant of the family Gramineae ( Poaceae ).
Features
The silver beard grass is a perennial, herbaceous plant Horst, achieved the stature heights of 60 to 130 centimeters. Most 15 to 30, sometimes more Rispentrauben are 2-6 inches long and each have 5 to 10 Ährchenpaare. The seated spikelets are 2.8 to 6.5 millimeters long and have a 10 to 15 mm long awn on. The stalked spikelets are awnless and 2 to 4 millimeters long.
The flowering period extends from July to September.
Occurrence
The species occurs in North and Central America and Brazil before in Pampas.
Use
The silver beard grass is rarely used as an ornamental plant for natural gardens.
