The shamrock cross, in variants Lazarus Cross and Brabanterkreuz, is a Cross ( heraldry), the ends of which are decorated with the shamrock.
The basic form
The shamrock cross is also known as clover cross. Derived from the 3 segments of a circle, is the expression of the three-leaf cross also common ( Trifoile, the trefoil ).
Variants
- Christian name is Lazarus Cross or St. Thomas Cross, it is from the common ( cross beams ) or Greek cross, or a Latin cross ( Passion Cross) formed occupied with trefoil cross arm ends.
- With stemmed clover it is called Brabant cross.
- If this cross diagonally down so it becomes a cloverleaf saltire.
- Another cross is the shamrock Tatzenkreuz.
- The name Lazarus Cross is also found for the shamrock cross dissolved as a nimbus cross pearl wreath.
