Boy Meets Girl (Band)
Boy Meets Girl is an American pop duo consisting of George Merrill (keyboards and vocals) and Shannon Rubicam ( vocals ).
The debut album of the same name was released in 1985 and with it the decoupled single " Oh Girl " managed the duo with the 39th place in the U.S. charts a first moderate success.
The greatest success, however, succeeded in 1988 with the song "Waiting for a Star to Fall" from the second album " Reel Life", which made it to the fifth spot in the U.S. charts. From the same album also the single " Bring Down the Moon" was still coupled, which reached the 47th spot on the U.S. charts.
Built in 1991, finished third album " New Dream " at that time was no longer published as a result of just taking place reorganization of the record company RCA. Later emerged, so individual demo CD copies of the album arrived at a ebay auction values of up to 700 U.S. $. In 2004 followed a remastering then still the publication of this album.
In 2000, the duo broke up in private, but remained the musical collaboration exist, so that 2003 was the fourth album "The Wonder Ground" could be produced.
In addition to the musical works for their own duo Merrill and Rubicam also composed songs for various other artists. Among the hits for Whitney Houston "I Wanna Dance with Somebody ( Who Loves Me) " and " How Will I Know".
Is currently working in a re-release of the debut album and new versions of the demo tapes for Whitney Houston. "Waiting for a Star to Fall" was also sampled in 2005 by the bands "Cabin Crew" and " Sunset Strippers " for his own songs.
