Boy van Poppel

Boy van Poppel ( born January 18, 1988 in Utrecht) is a Dutch cyclo-cross and road racing cyclist.

Boy van Poppel in 2005 for the first time Dutch cyclo-cross champion in the junior class. The next year he was able to defend that title. The following year, he became Junior World Champion in Zeddam. In the 2007/2008 cyclocross season he won the U23 edition of the Azencross in Wuustwezel - Loenhout and he was national under-23 champion.

On the road, Boy van Poppel 2004 in the junior class Dutch time trial champion. In 2006 he won a stage of the Driedaagse van Axel and he was national vice-champion in the road race in the juniors.

In the years 2011 and 2012, Van Poppel went UnitedHealthcare Maxxis for the American team. In the 2013 season he moved together with his brother for UCI ProTeam Vacansoleil - DCM. In October 2013 it was announced that he will switch to the 2014 season for Team Trek.

Boy van Poppel is the son of Jean -Paul van Poppel, who won among other nine stages of the Tour de France itself. His brother Danny van Poppel, his sister Kim van Poppel and his mother Leontien van der Lienden are cyclists.
