Boyabat Dam

The Boyabat dam is being built at Durağan in the Turkish province of Sinop since 2008 on Kızılırmak.

With its three Francis turbines hydroelectric power plant from 2014 is current with a nominal output of 3 x 171 = 513 MW and generate 1.5 billion kWh per year. The reservoir holds 3557 million m³. Its water surface is 60 square kilometers (or 65.4 km ²) are large and extend up to the provinces of Samsun and Çorum.

The gravity dam is 195 m high and 262 m long with a concrete volume of 2.7 million m³.

The construction cost the equivalent of 1.2 billion U.S. $ on Kızılırmak are planned another 23 dams or already in operation.
