Blindhai ( Brachaelurus Waddi )

The Blind sharks family ( Brachaeluridae ) belongs to the Ammenhaiartigen ( Orectolobiformes ). It includes two genera, each with one type, the Blindhai ( Brachaelurus Waddi ) and the blue horror Blindhai ( Heteroscyllium colcloughi ). Both live on the coasts of Australia from the water surface to depths of 110 meters.

Features

Blind sharks are 75 to 120 inches long. The number of vertebrae is located at 117 to 142 Her eyes are laterally on top of the head. The sharks are not actually blind, but the German Vernakularname is thus created that the fish caught by fishermen blind sharks (probably for protection) close their eyes when they are pulled out of the water. Your spray hole is large, the nasal barbels very long.
