Carpet shark

Leopard Shark ( Stegostoma fasciatum )

The Ammenhaiartigen ( Orectolobiformes ) are also called Teppichhaiartige and are an order of sharks ( Selachii ). The Ammenhaiartigen heard the whale shark ( Rhincodon typus), the largest shark and the largest fish in the present.

Features

All Ammenhaiartigen have two spineless dorsal fins, an anal fin, an injection hole and five, relatively small gill slits, of which the last two to four are located behind the base of the pectoral fin. The eyes are in many species high on the head. The mouth is relatively small and is usually clearly before the eyes. The nostrils are often provided with barbels and stand with Nasalgruben in conjunction.
