Brachioradialis

The musculus brachioradialis (Latin for " brachioradialis " ) is one of the spoke - or thumb- side skeletal muscles of the forearm.

In ungulates it is not formed; in dogs it is often lacking.

The brachioradialis muscle is involved in the flexion of the elbow joint and rotates the radius and ulna against each other so that the thumb passes outward ( supination ). Because of its long lever arm he is the typical Lastenbeuger the elbow joint, especially in a pronated forearm.
