Brady Township is a township in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania in the United States. In 2000 lived within the township, which is part of the Williamsport Metropolitan Statistical Area, 494 inhabitants.

History

Brady Township was formed on January 31, 1855 from portions of Washington Township. She has lived her name after the family Brady, of which some members within their borders. Until 1861, and the area of ​​today's Gregg Township, Union County belonged to Brady Township.

One of the most famous early residents of Brady Township was Judge William Piatt. Piatt was born on 29 January 1795. His father John Piatt had moved from New Jersey to the southern part of Lycoming County and established a tannery. His son followed him into this business, but soon gained interest in local politics and was elected in 1830 in the Pennsylvania General Assembly, where he remained for three terms. 1855 Piatt was Associate Judge. He also served the County and the Township as accountants.

Geography
