Branko Ivanković

Branko Ivankovic [ bra ː ː nkɔ iʋa nkoʋitɕ ] ( born February 28, 1954 in Cakovec ) is a Croatian football coach.

Between 1991 and 1995, coached Ivankovic the NK Varteks. The following year he moved to NK Segesta Sisak. The following year moved Ivankovic again the club, which he acted in the year 1996/97 at the NK Rijeka as a coach.

Ivankovic gained his first international experience as an assistant coach of Ćiro Blažević, who led the Croatian national team at the 1998 World Cup, where they finished third.

His career as a coach Branko Ivankovic led a club continued in 1999 /2000. He coached the then second division club Hannover 96 and was supported by his assistant coach Ivica Frkić, the Ivankovics translated speeches. After his unsuccessful time at Hannover 96, he returned to the Croatian national team as Mirko Jozićs assistant during the qualifications for the World Cup 2002.

On 29 January 2009 Ivankovic was coach of the Iranian national team. He thus followed in the footsteps of Blažević, which she headed since 2001. Previously, he served as an assistant coach with the Iranian national team. His commitment led the team to qualify for the World Cup 2006. Many of his critics call him a tactically weak people. The friendly against Croatia ( homeland of Ivankovic ) ended with 2:2, although Iran led to 91 minutes 2-1.

Branko Ivankovic succeeded with Iran to qualify ahead of schedule on 8 June 2005 a second group of Asian qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

On June 22, 2006 Branko Ivankovic resigned after the Vorrundenaus the Iranian national team back as their coach and with that came a likely dismissal before.

Invanković is now coach in the Chinese Super League. In his first season he was 2010 champion with Chinese Shandong Luneng.
