Traditionally, we find the Braque Francais mainly in the southern half of France. From the heavy slow pointing dogs Gascony and Oysel ( tracts of land in south-west France ), it has been bred from 1830 two strokes. 1883 described the author Espee de Selicourt first time very accurately the Braque Francais. 1850, the French kennel club began to organize and gave the much sought-after dog's name, which he still carries today: Braque Français. Around 1880, took over Mr. Senc -Lagrange breeding structure whose default is seen today in these dogs.
