Braunschweiger Schultheaterwoche

The Brunswick School Theatre Festival is a school theater festival, which takes place since 1970 in Brunswick every year before the summer holidays. Groups from all school types and grade levels can present themselves with their works.

Organization

The school theater week from the Association for the Promotion of the school theater in the former Region of Braunschweig eV organized and funded by the state of Lower Saxony, the city of Brunswick, the local State Theatre and the Deutsches Theater Göttingen. In collaboration with the College of Fine Arts ( HBK ), a workshop program is offered by the State Theater.

The screenings will take place mainly on the professionally operated platforms instead:

  • Small house (approx. 300 seats, State Theatre )
  • House III (approx. 80 seats, State Theatre )
  • Brunsviga (approx. 300 seats, independent association )
  • LOT theater (about 130 seats, independent association )

Production support

During the development of the pieces arranged groups have the opportunity to apply for a production support. Students of HBK offer teachers to support and can current methods of teaching school theater bring to school and collect teaching practice locally.
