To the west of the ridge of the Serpentine takes the Serpentinegletscher (French Glacier de la Serpentine ) as its starting point on the south side of Mont Blanc de Cheilon. This glacier is also to the northeast over the glacier pass Col de la Serpentine ( 3'547 m) connected to the Firngebieten of Tsijiore - Nouve and Cheilongletscher. At the southern foot of the Ruinette, to encounter from another firn, the Serpentinegletscher flows together with the Brenaygletscher. The glacier currently ends at an altitude of 2'575 m. Here arises the stream Dyure you Brenay, which briefly opens above the Lac de Mauvoisin in the Dranse de Bagnes.
