Brenda Dean, Baroness Dean of Thornton-le-Fylde

Brenda Dean, Baroness Dean of Thornton- le -Fylde, PC ( born April 29, 1943) is a British trade union activist and politician.

Life

Dean was involved from 1959 in the union SOGAT (Society of Graphical and Allied Trades ), whose she was president from 1983 to 1985 and then they board until 1991 as Secretary General.

In 1992 she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and collected in the following year was created a Life Peer. Since then, it is formally called Baroness Dean of Thornton- le -Fylde, of Eccles in the County of Greater Manchester and sitting for the Labour Party in the British House of Lords.

In 1998 she was appointed Privy Counsellor.
