Brendan Cole

Brendan Cole (born 23 April 1976) is a New Zealand professional Latin dancer who lives in the UK for some years. A wide audience, he was known as a regular participant in the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. In 2007 he represented Great Britain together with Camilla Dallerup the Euro Vision Dance Contest.

Life

Brendan Cole was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, and has been dancing since the age of six. At the age of 19, he moved to Britain, where he met his future fiancee Camilla Dallerup and dance partner. The couple took from 1996 to early 2002 as amateurs as well as between 2002 and 2004 as a professional dancer in tournaments. The biggest success the pair in 2003, when it took third place among the Latin dancers at the British Championships. Brendan Cole had with his celebrity dance partner Natasha Kaplinsky during the first season of Strictly Come Dancing an affair, whereupon Dallerup parted from him.

The couple goes for the separation and professionally separate ways, with the exception of participation in the Euro Vision Dance Contest ( see below).

Participation in Strictly Come Dancing

Cole participated in all eight seasons of the show so far sent. He had to be recorded in the first season when he won the competition with Natasha Kaplinsky the greatest success.

In addition, he participated in the 2004, 2005 and 2008 on Christmas special of the show - a co-production of the British and U.S. mission - part.

Participation in the Euro Vision Dance Contest

Camilla Dallerup and Brendan Cole were selected internally by the BBC to represent the UK in the first edition of the Euro Vision Dance Contest 2007 in London. With her rumba and freestyle performance but the couple could not get the European audience on show and came up with 18 points on the 15th and penultimate place. The second dance was the last joint appearance of the couple.

Other television appearances

• In the winter of 2004, Cole gained his first experience as an actor in the film Everything to dance for.
• In the second season of the reality show Love Iceland (a kind of mixture of Big Brother and " I'm a Celebrity - Get me out of here " ), he took second place as a male participant.
• In the show Just the two of us, he also took second place. The show is Strictly Come Dancing similar in structure, but replace each a celebrity and a professional singer in the duet.
