Strictly Come Dancing is a British television program that is broadcast on BBC One. Principle

In the broadcast pairs are formed consisting of celebrities and professional dancers who compete against each other every week to a professional jury and to impress the audience and thus to avoid being voted out. Viewers can vote via phone on their favorites; the ranking of the phone vote is added to the result of the jury. The jury consists of four members, each of whom awarded for each dance one to ten points. In the first two seasons only the " classic" that is, the five standard dances Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Slow Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz and the five Latin dances Cha -Cha -Cha, Rumba, Jive, Paso Doble and Samba were ten tournament dances presented. Staff / Presentation

The show will be broadcast on Saturday evenings on BBC One and presented by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly. In the second season the prominent winner of the first season, Natasha Kaplinsky Tess Daly replaced for a few weeks, as this was on maternity leave. The jury consists of Bruno Tonioli, Arlene Phillips, Len Goodman and Craig Revel Horwood.

Spin -offs

  • 2004, 2005 and 2006 Christmas Special of the program was broadcast, in which the best pairs of the respective scales again showed their skills. The edition of 2005 was a co-production with the U.S. version.
  • Approx. 35 countries have their own version of the program under different titles.

Selection

  • On 1 September 2007, the first edition of the Euro Vision Dance Contest took place, a sort of international version of the show, competing in the 16 countries against each other. But were also allowed to participate in their pairs, which consist only of professional dancers. Often the national edition of Strictly Come Dancing was used as a preliminary decision.
  • In the UK and some other countries, there is also the mission of Dancing on Ice, which has the same structure, but - as the title says - takes place with skates on ice.
  • Also in the UK, but also in countries such as Belgium, the show Just the two of us is broadcast based on the same principle, but it is not a dance, but singing.
