Dancing with the Stars is a dance show on Austrian television ORF, whose first season aired in October and November 2005. It is produced in a licensed version of the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing, which is marketed internationally under various titles such as Dancing with the Stars ( U.S.) or Let's Dance ( Germany ).
The finale of the first season between the pairs Marika Lichter & Andy Kainz and Toni Polster & Michaela Heintzinger on 11 November won lights and Kainz. The second season ran from 10 March 2006 and this won Manuel Ortega with Kelly Kainz, the wife of Andy Kainz. 2006 Dancing with the Stars was the most successful show of the ORF of all time the Golden Romy. The third season won Klaus Eberhartinger alongside professional dancer Kelly Kainz. In the fourth season in 2008 ORF Moderator Dorian Steidl was with his partner Nicole Kuntner who danced for the first time in the final, successful. The fifth season in 2009 won the ORF - presenter Claudia Reiterer and Andy Kainz, for this was the second victory. Initially, 10 pairs (each a celebrity and a professional dancer) show in each show one or more dances. The rating consists of two components: on the one hand, assigns a jury of four for each pair of points, on the other hand agree viewers voting by phone about the couples from. At the end of each consignment is leaving that pair, which was rated the worst, the game. On the last night of the series, the winner between the remaining three pairs is determined.
Each jury member gives each pair of points 1 to 10, the points of the jury members for each pair are added together and bring the couple in a jury ranking. Within this ranking, the couples get descending Appreciation points, the last place couple will receive a total rating point.
According to the number of calls the couple also brought in a ranking that leads to Gewamtwertungspunkten. The caller ranking and thus the overall standings points (as in the first season ) is not called.
At the end of every show, the couple leaves the competition with the fewest Appreciation points. In the final, the pair with the most Appreciation points. In the first season the winner donated the funds from a sponsor to a project from light into darkness. In the second season there was not this money prizes.
Since the fifth season of couples with male and female pairs are rated with professional dancer in the first two programs separately.
From the eighth season for the first time, there are a total of 12 programs, but none of the ten couples will have to leave the show in the first two shipments. The audience should the couple get to know better, the jury and audience ratings are applied to the third edition and miteinfließen.
