Katharina Gutensohn

Katharina Anna Good Son ( also: Katrin and Kathrin, born March 22, 1966 in Kirchberg in Tirol ) is a former Austrian Skicrosserin and Austro- German alpine ski racer. Among her greatest successes in alpine skiing include the silver medal in the downhill at the World Championships in Bormio in 1985 and winning the downhill World Cup 1990. Career

Alpine Skiing

Good son grew up in Kirchberg in Tyrol and graduated from the Skihandelsschule in Stams. On 17 December 1982 she started as a 16 -year-old for the first time in the World Cup in a slalom in Piancavallo. With start number 66, it reached it in 25th place. The first World Cup points followed in the combination of Piancavallo with seventh place. At the Junior World Championship 1983 in Sestriere, she won the silver medal in the combination and the bronze medal in the downhill.

In the season 1984/85 Good son reached third place in the departure of Santa Caterina their first podium in the World Cup. At the World Championships in February 1985 in Bormio they celebrated their biggest success: the then 19 - year-old won the silver medal in the downhill behind the Swiss Michela Figini, coinciding with the country Ariane Ehrat. The following winter, good son injured again: On January 15, 1993, she crashed in downhill in Cortina d' Ampezzo and tore the cross and inner band in his right knee. In the next few seasons, she came after the injury and after a Skimarkenwechsel no longer approached their previous peak results. She reached in 1994 a third place in the Super G and isolated place in the top ten. At the World Championships in 1996 in the Sierra Nevada they finished seventh in super-G and 15th in downhill. A year later at the World Championships in Sestriere it reached number five in the Super- G and ninth in the downhill.

In their last World Cup season 1997/98 she made two more times of the front runners. After the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, where she was ninth in the downhill, she finished 31- year career in their Alpine Ski World Cup.

Freestyle skiing

Since 2003, she played a variety of ski cross racing in the USA, in December 2004, she was able to win a race in the Jeep King of the Mountain series.
