Brendan Doran

Brendan Doran ( born March 17, 1979 in Long Beach, California) is an American former ski jumper.

Career

Doran began in 1994 in the Continental Cup (COC ). He reached right at the start good performance and was subsequently nominated for the Nordic World Ski Championships 1995 in Thunder Bay. There Doran jumped on the normal hill on the 50th and on the large hill on the 55th place. A year later, on 17 February 1996, he launched after further good performances in the Continental Cup for the first time in the Ski Jumping World Cup. However, in the two competitions in Iron Mountain, he fell short of expectations, reaching only number 37 and 47 Four weeks later he was able to win in Oslo 11th place his first World Cup points.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1988 in Nagano Doran jumped on the normal hill on the 52nd and on the large hill on the 58th Place.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein and the other World Cup competition the following season he has had little success. Also in the Continental he remained without success. On 19 January 2001 Doran reached with 8th place in Park City the best result of his career in the World Cup. A day later, he jumped his last World Cup.

At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City Doran difference when jumping from the large hill from already in the qualifying and reached the normal hill the 44th.

In Continental he jumped up to the end of the 2001/02 season and then ended his ski jumping career at the age of only 23 years.
