Brentford Branch Line

The Great Western and Brentford Railway was a British railway company in Middlesex in England.

The Company was incorporated on 14 August 1855 to build a 6.4 km long railway line in the broad gauge of 2140 mm. The route led from Southall to the Great Western Railway train route London- Bristol at the Brentford Dock on the River Thames.

On 15 July 1859, received on the route of freight transport and from 1 May 1860, the passenger traffic. Already from the opening date of the track was leased to the Great Western Railway. In 1861 the line was extended to a third rail for standard gauge. In 1876 it was converted to standard gauge.

The Great Western Railway took over the company with effect from 1 January 1872.
