Breviceratops is a little known, controversial genre of bird Beck dinosaur ( Ornithischia ) from the group of ceratopsians.

From Breviceratops incomplete skull and scattered bones of the body skeleton are known to date. It must have been a medium-sized, about 2 meters long representatives of Protoceratopsidae. The muzzle was pointed as with all Ceratopsiern, but remarkably short and narrow. On the nose there was a small, flat horn. On Zwischenkieferbein were small, pin-like teeth, the teeth behind it were leaf-shaped and oriented as in all Ceratopsiern on a plant-based diet.

The fossil remains of Breviceratops were discovered in the Mongolian Gobi province Ömnö and 1975 first described, but still under the name Protoceratops kozlowskii. Only in 1990, the distinct genus Breviceratops was built for this type, the genus name is derived from the Latin brevis ( = " short") and the Greek keratops ( = " horn face" ), a common name component of the ceratopsians, from. The finds are dated to the Late Cretaceous ( Campanian ) in age 84-72 million years.

It is disputed whether this is a valid genus in Breviceratops. In the opinion of some researchers, it is a young animal of Bagaceratops.
