Brian Umony

Brian Umony ( born December 12, 1988 in Jinja ) is a Ugandan footballer who currently plays in Tanzania while Azam FC.

Career

Association

Brian Umony began his career in 2003 at Nakawa United. Only a year later he came to Naguru SC, where he played until 2007. Then he moved to Kampala City Council FC and scored fifteen goals in his first season, was league top scorer and managed to get his team to win the championship. In addition, he was elected Footballer of the Year in Uganda in 2008. In the 2008 /09 season, the club missed out on second place on points with the first one. In June 2009, he completed a one-week trial to the South African club SuperSport United and signed after a two-year contract. But only a year later, after twelve games and only two goals, he was released on 8 July 2010 by his club. On August 31, he was the team of the University of Pretoria, taken the Tuks FC for one year under contract.

In February 2011, he was loaned for a year at the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer. On March 26, he was in the 0-2 defeat against Toronto FC his league debut when he came on in the 73rd minute for Jorge Perlaza. In his second game against New England Revolution, he played the entire second half.

In January 2012 he joined the Vietnamese club Bình Dương Becamex. After just twelve league appearances for Bình Dương Becamex, he moved in December 2012 to the Tanzanian club Azam FC.

National

Umony stood at CECAFA Cup 2008, the first squad of the Ugandan national football team. There he helped his team with five goals scorer to win the title. He came in 22 international appearances to nine goals.
