Brian Yorkey

Brian Yorkey (* around 1971 in Omaha, Nebraska) is an American playwright and lyricist, who won in 2010 for the libretto for the musical Next to Normal won the Pulitzer Prize for drama and the Tony Award in 2009 for Best Original Music.

Life

At the age of 10 years Yorkey moved with his family to Issaquah, Washington. He attended the local high school and graduated from it in 1989. He then studied at Columbia University in New York.

Yorkey first wrote several plays as his debut Funny Pages (1993). He had for which he received the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 2009 and won the Tony Award for best original music with the libretto for the musical Next to Normal (2008 ) 2010 His biggest success.
