Brisbane Roar FC W-League
The Brisbane Roar Women are an Australian women's football team from Brisbane, Queensland. The professional team was founded in 2008 and plays in the W-League, the highest level of female football league in the country. The team belongs to the football club Brisbane Roar FC plays its professional men's team in the A-League.

History
2008/ 09 - Team Foundation and first season
In 2008, the Australian football federation ( FFA) founded the Professional Women's Soccer League W-League. At that time was called the Brisbane Roar FC still Queensland Roar FC. To participate in the new league as a founding member, the association set up his own women's football team. As a coach, the former Welsh international Jeff Hopkins was committed. In the first season of the team and the league Hopkins could lead the Queensland Roar at first place in the table at the end of the season. The team thus won the first "W - League Premiership " and moved into the play-offs. In the semifinals, the team met the Sydney FC. After a 1-1 aet the Queensland Roar could win on penalties 5-4. 2009 - Second Season
In 2009, the Queensland Roar FC changed its name to Brisbane Roar FC. After the successful last season the team with the third place again succeeded in making the play -offs. 2010/11 - Third Season
By the third season, the Brisbane Roar Women were able to establish their status as one of the top teams in the league. After a second place at the end of the season the team moved into the play -offs. The semi-final against Canberra United FC won the club after a 2-2 aet 4-2 on penalties. For the third consecutive year, the women arrived at the " Grand Final" and also played this year against Sydney FC. Unlike last year, the Brisbane Roars won 2-1 and were for the second time "W -League champion".
2011/12 - Fourth Season
The Brisbane Roar Women could gain the second place in the table at the end of the fourth season and move into the play-offs. The semi-final won by the team against Sydney FC in a penalty shootout with 4:3 (1:1 aet ). Like all previous seasons before the team again reached the Grand Final. In the final, the women met at the Canberra United FC and subject to it 3-2.
2012/13 - Fifth Season
After four seasons, with respective entry into the play-off final, the coach Jeff Hopkins left the Brisbane Roars. New coach has been the Australian Belinda Wilson. In her first season, she led the women's team at first place in the table and the victory of the "W - League Premiership ". In the semifinals of the playoffs, the team was defeated by Sydney FC with 2:3. The 2012/13 season was the first time that the Brisbane Roar not moved in to the final since the establishment of the League.
2013/14 - Sixth Season
For the 2013/14 season the club engaged the German National goalkeeper Nadine Angerer. The team reached the fourth place in the table and thus a place in the play-offs. In the semifinals, the team won 2-1 against Canberra United FC, reaching the play-offs final. In the Grand Final Brisbane Roar Women lost 2-0 against the Melbourne Victory FC.
