British International Helicopters

British International Helicopter Services Ltd. is the UK's largest helicopter operator with a fleet of 25 helicopters and more than 100 employees. BIH is managed by Rigby Group PLC and is headquartered at the Coventry Airport.

History

The company was originally founded as a British Airways Helicopters in September 1985 by Robert Maxwell and renamed in 1993, after the Bank of Scotland took over the financing in British International Helicopters (BIH ). BHI also questioned the pilots and helicopters for the South Wales Police.

In June 2013, the companies of the Rigby Group PLC, a subsidiary of Patriot Aerospace was acquired by its existing aviation activities to supplement.

Until 31 October 2012, BHI also operated scheduled services with two Sikorsky S- 61 to the second largest island of the Isles of Scilly in the United Kingdom, the Tresco Heliport was abandoned. The main business is now in flight service to the offshore fields.
