British Rail Class 333

Vehicles of the British class 333 are electric multiple units (English: electric multiple unit, short EMU ) in the United Kingdom. They are used in rail passenger transport and are based on the Class 332

Manufacturer

The manufacturers were Siemens Transportation Systems and the Spanish company CAF SA ( Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles ), the production was carried out in the factory in Zaragoza. In February 2001, the class took 333 passenger-carrying operations.

Unlike the Class 332 vehicles of category 333 have twice as large seating capacity on at slightly lower acceleration.

Rolling stock

The steel vehicles are fully air-conditioned, have a toilet and a passenger information system. The end cars form the driven power heads.

Operators and application areas

Used is class 333 of the British railway company Northern Rail on the Wharfedale Line between Ilkley and Leeds in West Yorkshire. It also runs on the Airedale line between Leeds and Morecambe in North Yorkshire. This will be replaced on both stretches of the predecessor class 308.
