Broken Hope

Broken Hope (English for "Broken Hope" ) is an American death metal band from Chicago.

History

Broken Hope was founded in 1988 by guitarist Jeremy Wagner while he was still in high school. After the band had produced and distributed two demo recordings, she gained a record deal in 1990 on a small label. In 1991 the debut album " Swamped in Gore " was produced, which was the first death metal album, which has been completely digitally recorded. The album garnered mostly positive reviews and gave the band their breakthrough. In 1993, a shift toward larger label Metal Blade Records Broken Hope on which all subsequent albums; as well as a re-release of their debut produced. Founded in 1995, published album " Repulsive Conception " was recorded 25 Metal charts of the U.S. music magazine CMJ at the time of its publication in the monthly top.

End of the nineties the band had toured almost continuously for 10 years and worked on their albums before the appearance of the first problems with the label. Also among the band members, there were discrepancies. Published in 1999 Broken Hope her last album " Grotesque Blessings" and completed two last toured North America and Europe before founder Jeremy Wagner in 2000 decided the end of the band.

Some years later, however, the three former members Jeremy Wagner, Shaun Glass and Joe Ptacek planning a reunion; this project, however, was made ​​by the suicide Ptaceks on 20 January 2010 for the time being to niece. In 2012, finally, the band reformed and signed a record deal with Century Media Records. A tour at the reunion is planned.

On the first of August 2013, the band released their sixth studio album "Omen of Disease " announced and published in advance on the cover. At the same time Damian Leski ( Gorgasm ) was introduced as the new vocalist.
