Broock is since 1 January 2009, a district of Lübz district Ludwigslust - Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ).

Geography and transport

The district is located about five kilometers east of Luebz and approximately twelve kilometers west of Plau am See. In the northern part of the former municipality are the Müritz- Elde waterway and the Old Elde. The latter is part of the nature reserve at Old Elde Kuppentin. Here is the Fahrenholz a larger forest area. Southeast of the village is the Kritzower lake. The highest elevations in the former municipality located in the southern part and reach nearly 100 m above sea level. NHN.

History

Broock was first mentioned in documents as Brůkowe in 1317. The derivation of Lokatornamen Brok is unsecured.

The community Broock was dissolved on January 1, 2009, and incorporated into the city Lübz.
