Brothers of Christian Instruction of St Gabriel

The Congregation of the Frères de Saint -Gabriel (official name Frères de l'instruction chrétienne de Saint -Gabriel; Latin Institutum Fratrum instructionis christianae a Sancto Gabriele, SG; translated: Brothers of the Christian teaching of the holy Gabriel; short Gabrielisten ) is a lay Catholic Order of Friars, which was founded in 1715 by St. Louis -Marie de Montfort ( 1643-1716 ).

The community that the teaching profession and education dedicated to never counted in the 18th century about 30 members, but then grew to 1900 in 1027 brothers. Today ( 2003) counts the Congregation 1,200 brethren in all parts of the world ( including France, Belgium, Canada, India, Thailand, USA, Mauritius, Madagascar, Brazil and England ), where it operates schools.
