Brouwerij Boon

Boon is a Belgian brewery in Lembeek, the suburbs of the city hall in Flemish Brabant.

History

The origins of the current brewery dating from 1680, when JB Claes in Leembek bought a farm and a brewery and distillery there einrichtete. 1860 Louis Paul acquired the Prokutionsgebäude of the family Claes and started with the production of Lambic and Faro beer. The brewery at that time had the name " Brasserie de Saint Roch ". A new malting plant was added in 1890. 1875 began first brewing experiments for the production of Geuze Lambic -. Since Louis Paul had no heirs, he sold his brewery in 1898 to Pierre Troch. In 1927 his son René Troch was due to a crisis forced to sell the company; new owner, Joseph De Vits. In succession, the brewery was taken over by his son, Rene. 1978 Frank Boon bought the operation and called him by his family name. 1989 Boon moved the brewing operation due to capacity and space, in the center of Leembek; there beer production in 1989 was resumed. Annual production is currently around 10,000 hectoliters of beer.
