Bruce Graham

Bruce John Graham ( born December 1, 1925 in La Cumbre, Colombia, † March 6, 2010 in Jupiter, Florida ) was an American architect.

Life

Bruce J. Graham was born the son of Canadian Bankers and a Peruvian woman in La Cumbre, Colombia. His native language is Spanish. He took his degree in 1944 at the Colegio San Jose de Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He then studied at the University of Dayton and the Case School of Engineering in Ohio. He made in 1948 in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania his graduation. He then began his career in Chicago at Holabird & Roche, before joining the office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill moved. A few years later he was promoted to head of the office.

He worked with the structural engineer Fazlur Khan together in the construction of the Willis Tower, John Hancock Center and the dse Inland Steel Building. He also used long-term friendships with Alexander Calder, Joan Miró, Chryssa, Eduardo Chillida and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
