Bruce Peninsula

Geographical location

The Bruce Peninsula (English Bruce Peninsula ) is located in Southwestern Ontario ( Canada). It extends 90 km into the northwest in the Huron and separates the main lake located west of the eastern Georgian Bay. Its maximum width is about 20 km.

The Bruce Peninsula forming a part of the so-called Niagara Escarpment, which continues over the adjacent Manitoulin Island to the west.

Administratively, the peninsula is located in Bruce County. Founded in 1987, The Bruce Peninsula National Park is located in the extreme northwest of the peninsula. It serves to protect this pristine landscape of cliffs and forests and the flora and fauna occurring here.

At the northwest end of the Bruce Peninsula, the town is Tobermory.
