Bruce Riedel

Bruce Riedel ( born 1953 in Queens, New York City ) is a U.S. expert on the Middle and Far East. He was an American member of the Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA), diplomat and advisor to the U.S. government.

He studied at Brown University and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA ) from. He then studied diplomatic history at Harvard University and was awarded the Master of Arts in 1977.

From 1977 to 1990 he worked at the CIA for various tasks. As Deputy Director, he was employed from 1990 to 1991 in the task force for the Persian Gulf in the CIA. As Director of affairs in the Persian Gulf and South Asia, he was from 1991 to 1993 in the National Security Council ( NSC) operates.
