The Brunner Iceland Steam Electric Station is a coal-fired power plant on the Susquehanna River in Iceland Brunner York County in Pennsylvania (USA). The power plant consists of three units:

Impact on the environment

The owner company PPL started by his own admission in 2005 with the installation of filters, the so PPL could remove 100,000 tonnes per year of sulfur. The installation should be completed by PPL 2009.

In a study on the air quality of USA Today, the plant was named as one of several in the region as a potential source of pollutants.

Emissions

In addition to the waste heat is introduced into the Susquehanna, also sulfur dioxide is discharged. Thus, 9.29 kg of sulfur dioxide are emitted for every megawatt hour of electrical energy.
