The Moreton Bay Caucasus Forget-Me- Not ( Brunnera macrophylla) is a plant of the species-poor genus Caucasus Forget -Me-Not ( Brunnera ) in the family of Boraginaceae ( Boraginaceae ). It occurs in the Caucasus.

Description

Vegetative characteristics

The Moreton Bay Caucasus Forget-Me- Not is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches the plant height of 20 to usually 40 to 50 centimeters. It forms a short rhizome as Überdauerungsorgan. The basal leaves are petiolate 20 to 25 inches long. Their simple, dark green leaf blade is at a length of 20 to 30 centimeters ovate - cordate or triangular- reniform.

Generative features

The flowering time is depending on the location from April to June; it takes three to four weeks. The Moreton Bay Caucasus Forget Me Not is a short, branched inflorescence with many flowers. The hermaphrodite flowers are radial symmetry and fünfzählig double perianth. The cup is the heyday of one millimeter long. The blue colored crown wheel-shaped with a diameter of three to seven millimeters and resembles that of a Forget -Me-Not. The corolla tube is one millimeter long.

Occurrence

The Moreton Bay Caucasus Myosotis comes in the Caucasus in oak forests, pine forests and mountain slopes at altitudes of 500 to 2000 meters in front.

Use

The Moreton Bay Caucasus Forget-Me- Not is widely used as an ornamental plant in perennial beds and borders. The species is in cultivation since at least 1825. The variety ' Hadspen Cream' has a cream colored leaf margin, ' Langtrees ' has silberfleckige leaves, ' Betty Bowring ' has a white crown, ' Dawson 's White' has a wide creamy-white margin.
