Brushcreek Township is one of seventeen townships in Highland County, Ohio, United States. The census of 2000 found 1,308 people in the community, of which 1,150 lived in unincorporated parts of the parish.

Geography

In the southeastern corner of the county area, it borders the following municipalities:

  • Paint Township - north
  • Perry Township, Pike County - Northeast
  • Mifflin Township, Pike County - East
  • Franklin Township, Adams County - southeast corner
  • Bratton Township, Adams County - Southwest
  • Jackson Township - Southwest
  • Marshall Township Northwest

The village of Sinking Spring is located in the southeastern Brushcreek Township.

Name and history

It is the only Brushcreek Township throughout the state, although there are Brush Creek townships in the counties of Adams, Muskingum and Scioto.

Government

The municipality is governed by a board of three managers, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years and begin a four-year term from 1 January following. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one the year before. There is also an elected municipal finance officers, commencing four years from 1 April of the year that is after the election, which was conducted in the year before the presidential election in November. Gaps in the tax office or the Administrator Board concluded by the remaining managers.
