Brussels Philharmonic

The Brussels Philharmonic (also: Brussels Philharmonic, formerly called Flemish Radio Orchestra ) is a Belgian Symphony Orchestra. Founded in 1935 as a radio orchestra of BRTN, the orchestra has since 1998 as a foundation under public law, under sponsorship of the Flemish Community on their own feet. Home of the ensemble is Studio4 at the Cultural Flagey in Brussels, Belgium.

Since 2008, the Swiss Michel Tabachnik chief conductor of the Orchestersr. Its predecessors were Yoel Levi (2001-2008), Frank Shipway (1996-2001), Alexander Rahbari (1988-1996), Fernand Terby ( 1978-1988 ).

  • 2013 - Emmy Award nomination for the soundtrack to the BBC miniseries Parade 's End, composed by Dirk Brossé.
  • 2012 - Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and César for the soundtrack to the French film The Artist, composed by Ludovic Bource.
  • 2005 - Golden Globe for the film score for The Aviator, composed by Howard Shore.
