Buck Taylor

Buck Taylor ( born May 13, 1938 as Walter Clarence Taylor, III in Hollywood, California) is an American actor.

Life

Taylor was born as the son of actor Dub Taylor. He studied drama at the University of Southern California Los Angeles, where he was also active as a track and field athlete and took part in the qualifying round for the Olympic Games. After his military service in the United States Navy in 1962, he began his acting career. Like his father, he played preferably in the western genre and had guest roles on Bonanza and The Men from Shiloh Ranch. In 1967 he was cast in the role of the gunsmith Newly O'Brien in the series Gunsmoke, which he played until 1975. Also in the following years he worked mainly westerns, including Triumphs of a Man Called Horse, Gettysburg and Tombstone and the Will Smith blockbuster Wild Wild West. For his contributions to the Western genre he was awarded the Spirit of Texas, the Cowboy Spirit, the Spirit of the West and the Golden Boot Award and incorporated into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Taylor was from 1961 to 1983 to actress Judy Nugent married with whom he had three children, be married to the actress Anne Lockhart son Adam died in 1994 in a traffic accident. Since 1993, Taylor has worked as a painter, his pictures (mainly Cowboy and Western Theme ) he sells through galleries and its website.
